The waves are
crashing
against the shore
like cannon balls
on a battle field
like raindrops
in a rain storm
like risen hopes
that are doomed to fall
the waves
are perfect
they rise
out of the ocean
slowly moving
toward the shore
and then they
curl
until they
meet
the hot
white
sand
This is the best poem I have read in a long time. I love this poem. Love, Carlos.
ReplyDeleteJillian - This is a really good poem! I spent some time this summer trying to write about the waves and it's hard! But you've rendered it beautifully here. First you have a series of great comparisons, and then you show us the waves doing something-- it's a poem and a story! I really like this poem!
