The waves are
crashing
against the shore
like cannon balls
on a battle field
like raindrops
in a rain storm
like risen hopes
that are doomed to fall
the waves
are perfect
they rise
out of the ocean
slowly moving
toward the shore
and then they
curl
until they
meet
the hot
white
sand

Today
we are going to
the beach
but its raining
who ever heard
of going to
the beach
while the rain
is pouring down
we will be
driving
for 3 hours
to get there
but when we
get out
of the car
it will be raining
in Maryland
in July
at the
beach

July 1, 2010

It is the first of July
and everyone will know
that in 2 days
Hillary will be 6
she will wake up in the morning
as if it is Christmas
and jump on my parents bed
saying
TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!
I have
quit a few months left
before I can say
that today is my birthday
and that I am 12
but right now
I am still 11
and my sister will say
I am 6
and today is my
birthday
